TCB stands for Teflon Coated Braid. Bryan Thrift compared the effect of the coating on braided line to the effect of the coating on non-stick pots and pans. The coated braid is smooth and slick, which allows you to cast farther and keeps the line from getting locked down in the spool on a hard hookset. TCB Braid comes in four- and eight-carrier versions.
