The 3M Whole House Water Treatment Media is a blended filter media used in residential and commercial applications, to neutralize highly acidic or low pH water to a neutral, less corrosive effluent level. The Water Treatment Media is a specific blend of calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide that corrects highly acidic water. Highly acidic water, or water with a pH rating of less than 7, is highly corrosive to piping and plumbing fixtures. With pH corrected water, prevent the potential of leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. When used in a 3M water treatment system, such as a backwash filter, the periodic backwashing will help prevent packing of the media bed, as well as maintain high service levels of the media.
