Oval ceramic catalyst measures 9 inches long by 7 inches wide by 2 inches thick.<br /><br /> Chemically converts toxic chemicals from smoke into water vapor and heat. Generates more heat with less wood.<br /><br />Strategically placed in the smoke path inside a wood stove or insert, catalytic combustor causes smoke to burn as fuel. That means a wood stove can be burned slowly, transforming most energy stored in a log to the room as heat, instead of to the outside as air pollution. They also help prevent build-up of hazardous creosote in chimney and flue.<br /><br />Condar recommends replacing your fireplace’s thermometer each time the combustor is replaced.
